BE AWARE

Customers please be aware that all County regulations are not the same.  What you can burn, excavate, clear, grade and add fill dirt to in one county does not apply to another county.  Some new state regulations apply also.  Case in point.  The job I cleared back in March, 2012 in Gainesville was supposedly finished.  The owner had me pile up the brush and trees in approx. 25 piles to burn once the restrictions were lifted in October.  October came and the owner contacted the county and the fire marshall to prepare to burn and they said "no way".  So.....he hired me to move all of these brushpiles and this is what it NOW looks like.  Please contact me if you have any questions BEFORE you plan to do anything with your property.

Clearing job in Gainesville

I started a 7 acre clearing job in Gainesville a few weeks ago. All but about 1% are cedar trees. Thick and time consuming, but gettin' it done.

First....you size em up to make sure you have a clear enough area to place the pile.

Then........you knock em down, line em up and push em up into a big pile's...... to be burned at a later date.

2011 is done

2011 was a great year for Martins Materials, LLC. We had quite a few loads come into our dumpsites and even a little loader work, demolition, and clearing to round things out. The largest dumpsite in Dumfries, VA is now completed and grass is growing. Thanks to all of my customers for making 2011 a successful year. Looking forward to 2012.

Swamps and mudholes

After all of the rains we had for the last few months , this is what a mess one spot was at one of my dumpsites.

Baseball field

These are before and after pictures of an elementary school ballfield, where the outside grandstand area needed to be raised so spectators could watch the game a little more comfortably. I trucked in and placed about 350 loads of fill dirt , moved the slope out about 30' and graded it out, raising the whole area about 4'. "Play Ball"

2004 photos

This was a job in 2004 that required the removal of large trees, installation of pipe for drainage and approx. 800 loads of fill dirt trucked in. As you can see in the first two pictures, it was quite a deep ravine. Once filled and graded (last picture), it made for a very nice pasture area that the owner fenced in and now uses to hold horses.
